I'd love to see it tackled onscreen, but if Raimi doesn't have the passion for the character, then I think the Arads need to back off (if they are indeed pressuring Raimi into the inclusion of the character) and let Sam make his passion. When Raimi is through with doing SPIDER-MANs, I'm sure there will be quite a few people who would jump at the bit to take on Venom with the respect the character would deserve.
